last night i met C at Whole Foods for dinner.

after dinner i bought 80% organic hypoallergenic moisturizer that has not been tested on animals, and an almond gelato.

then we went to REI because i had a member coupon and it's their big sale. i wanted C to get a Sigg bottle because of the bisphenol A scare, but he didn't like any of the patterns, so we decided to look for one online. we looked at travel backpacks (still trying to decide if we're going to europe with the rolling carryons or not). i bought a bunch of Smartwool socks because they were on sale for less than half price. C got pants with articulated knees and a hemp/cotton blend shirt.

we were able to agree that no human needs a $450 unlined windbreaker. but C looked so good in it i actually thought about how to budget it and i think it was then i realized that i had to write this post.

i picked up my film festival pass today. the picture isn't bad.

i wrote this post and then looked up the links, not the other way around.

You are a unique snowflake. Possibly short a crystal or two. ::wink::

Note: Rolling carry-ons can weigh as much as four pounds more than non-rolling bags or backpacks by virtue of the necessary hardware.

Of course, I read this to mean that the moisturizer had been tested on an almond gelato and thought what a cruel company the manufacturer must be. Poor gelato.

Suitcase backpacks over wheeled bags any day (but then, I'm big). I picked up this model (http://www.rei.com/product/748432) at REI about a month ago, but haven't traveled with it yet.

Would Buy Again. Light, comfortable, and built like a tank. It's a much better value than the cheaply-manufactured one sold under the Rick Steves brand.

The only caveat is to pack conscientiously -- the pack has only a little structure, so the neck of that wine bottle will find its way into the small of your back unless it's secured.

Also, I broke one of the clips to tie back the cinch straps on the way out at SeaTac, where it got eaten by the belt on the scanner at the security station. It didn't affect performance a whit, and that's more the fault of the machinery than the pack's manufacture. (The guy in line in front of me had the tray with his laptop go skidding out of the machine and onto the floor, cracking the case right open.)

You're welcome to try on the pack to make your own judgment.

These stores are excellent for bringing children, as there is nothing that they actually want.

“Oh, mommy, look chocolate!”

“No Joshua, that’s carob.”

“I want it.”

“Ok.”

The child will then take a bite and realize that nothing in the store can be trusted.

I so love the Stuffwhitepeople like blog, LOL!!!

Don't order from the actual SIGG online store. It took them 2 months to ship me a bottle that I specifically chose because it was in stock.

Swiss efficiency, not so much.

After might be better. I'm trying to go to the gym so I might not get to the Center until 6:30. Can you send me your cell # again?

Also are you seeing "Chris and Don" tomorrow morning?
