i now weigh less than my IQ.
Nov. 9th, 2003 10:41 pmthe diet is succeeding, despite the influence of Satan ;)
we had dinner at the grown ups' table on Friday, even if we did make the lounge singer do Bohemian Rhapsody. he was quite game, i nearly cried with laughter, and i think he got five bucks' tip from everyone at the table. the food was good too.
Saturday was super-loungey, slept in, got groceries & videos. i watched stuff C would never sit through while he wrote - Far From Heaven was simply brilliant. i've never seen a film so filled with sex and violence that we didn't see. and the colors! scenes were always being set with a botanical gesture for the season, like a sort of visual haiku. Dennis Haysbert is now officially hotter than Denzel :) i'm still chewing over the way the only one who ended up happy was the gay home-wrecker. The Business of Fancydancing just wasn't as cool as Smoke Signals, no matter how much scenery i recognized.
finally saw Alien on the big screen, and met
raevnos in the process.
today was about dim sum brunch, tasty and "gelatinous, " winetasting, peacocks, and doughnut temptation. we got some vitamins and muffin mix on the way home, and then slept until five or so. i may be staying home from work tomorrow, depending. can't breathe through my nose anymore, even with drugs.
i'm reading this nifty little book called The Fox Woman more magic realism than fantasy about a kitsune in love with the man who owns the estate she grew up on. seems to be just post-Genji in setting...layered silk robes, animals, poetry, sex. good so far. i'm thinking it would make great bunraku or maybe noh, with a kyogen as brother fox and a great dance for our heroine's journey to get a human skull so that she can work her transformation from fox to human. yeah.
Dunkin' Donuts. You know you want one.
