Date: 2006-05-18 08:49 pm (UTC)As a sci-fi kid back in '77, I acquired (don't recall how) a first edition of the novelization that had come out before the movie opened, and these scenes were in it, plus a still or two with Biggs. Nice to see what that all looked like. (Notice that in the final film Luke in his garage plays "swoop zoom" with the model of the Skyhopper that Biggs refers to.)
Oh, Christ. How come I can't remember the terms of my mortgage, but this stuff stays in the medulla oblongeeka for so long, untouched by any recent neuron firings?

I've often thought about whether SW turned me into the big geek I am now. I remember being entranced by Space:1999 long before I saw Wars, though, so maybe it was genetic.
