staranise is working on a DW guide for newbies, aimed more at folks who know Tumblr rather than eljay.
they could use comments on the plan and some activity for their screenshots

That's awesome! It's a pity I'm not much of a Tumblr user. It's one of those platforms on which I've maintained a strategic presence.

on Tumblr I'm just a consumer - it sure is nice for viewing pictures and gifs. I don't think I've ever posted/commented/reblogged. in general I feel like it's a lot of shouting into the void rather than building relationships. (and if you do build relationships then you get to see the same content in your feed repeated over and over.)
