The Landing

narrative film, made in the style of a documentary (lovingly made by people who know documentaries). Apollo 18 lands in the wrong location, and only one man comes out alive. was it...murder? good stuff. creepy how many people walked out thinking it was real. *sigh*

Funny that there isn't some rule about having to continue incrementing the Apollo mission numbers each time you want to make a new fictional treatment of another trip to the moon in the early 70s. ("Apollo 18" already having had its eponymous movie.)

Come to think of it, Steve Austin, in "Wine, Women and War"(the second Six Million Dollar Man TV-movie-before-the-series, described by some Tropers as an attempt to validate Austin as the American James Bond) was referenced as having been on the crew of Apollo 19.
