pain, ambiguity, leather
Jan. 13th, 2005 08:36 pmi had a roaring headache yesterday; i woke with it and it remained my companion until sleep again. C forced me to stay home from work, and that meant that he never saw me fully awake for the entire day.
i did swim up enough to watch Talk to Her in the afternoon. i'm interested in more Almodovar. perhaps i'm most interested in laying off films that make judgements for the viewer, and this is a start. or it could be the wonder of crawling inside the one you love and never coming out again. the thought lingers, and appeals on these cold days, of wrapping up in flesh as a steamy hot blanket.
work today was driving and intense, the kind of day where the hours fly by and the line of people asking questions is always three deep. the ninth hour would have rolled into ten without a thought had i not needed to pick up C. i had about ten minutes to sip tea and catch my breath before we were in the car. after missing the turn for the Ballard bridge, i suggested we cross the ship canal at Fremont instead...which led to dinner at Hale's. the only other time i had been there was with a horde of people, so i had no idea about the leather loveseats in the bar. there are leather loveseats in the bar. it is a fine thing to snuggle up to your husband with a freshly pulled cream ale and a burger with bacon. did i mention the leather?
