so i was going to say
Sep. 30th, 2003 09:44 pmThe Rocky Horror Show on Friday: the kind of theatre crowd i'd like to imagine shakespeare had - loud, wild, enthralled with the show and boldly responsive. As an old RHPS whore, it was difficult to edit out the references to visual gags...and i really missed things like "Who's to Blane? Sue's to Blane?" Worst. Choreography. Ever. (Well, after mine for Pirates of Penzance, but that was mostly intentional.) The best part was when this guy wouldn't stop saying "boor-ing" during the narration and he got shouted down. Best lines refer to the text of the narration, dimwit. As always, I noted some regional variations, but they passed too fast for me to commit to memory. Nick Garrison was a great Riff, and I liked Brad and Janet as well, but the Frank was just not sexy. He was so meaty and manly, and he just couldn't STRUT. But the costumes were great, the transitions were smooth, and it was well designed. Oh, and the orgy at the end was in a big pile of foam.
