something, somewhere is terribly wrong today. i can't shake the feeling.

In saying this, I don't want you to think I'm being snarky or anything -- I'm not.

Perhaps you're picking up on a reflection of what today is -- not so much Veteran's day -- frankly, that waters the day down to vague unreality and keeps most of us from actually remembering what it remembers. Rather, because it's Armistice day -- 11/11/1918, the end of a war where an entire generation was lost.

now that you mention it, i think it's Remembrance Day in Canada, which is more appropriate.
i had the feel that it was something more personal than worldwide, and i'm trying to take note of when and how these inklings play out, if they play out. perhaps it's not about me at all.
it's good to get some perspective. i have a distinct memory of a graph my high school French teacher showed us, with two giant dents in it. the death toll of the war on terror is negligable in comparison. i hope someone in power somewhere takes note and keeps it that way.

yeah, in these days of the war on terror, there's lots of terror, but actually very little (but still too much!) bloodshed.

I mean, jeez, a MILLION dead at Verdun alone.

there was a major strike by US forces in Fallujah today as well and estimates are 30 to 40% of injured and killed were non-combatants. I'd call that terribly wrong for sure.
