good news: my cousin Michelle is getting married in San Francisco, and C and i will be there, along with nearly all of my immediate family. lovely inexpensive direct flight by traveling to Oakland. locals assure me we can get to BART from the airport and happily downtown for cheap.

Date: 2004-07-30 06:07 am (UTC)In a word, it is complete disassociation... but when I would ride rollercoasters, which terrified me, I would repeat to myself with closed and eventually opened eyes, "This is not really happening."
Here's where I am moving, something gleaned from Alice Walker's _Now is the Time to Open Your Heart_: make friends with the fear.
How? Beat me with a stick, I am just starting to contemplate what that would mean for me... how I could do it (being a soul half mired in fear, half dare-devil).
