Jul. 12th, 2003 11:20 amWoke up today feeling a little toxic. I slept hard last night and late into the morning.
I still didn't feel great at the end of the day yesterday but i was climbing the walls, so I got C to go with me to Easy Street and the other used place. The other used place was pretty worthless. Easy Street yielded Laura Love's Octoroon. I didn't know that she was local. Sigh. So many things I loved back in PA came from Seattle. Fingers pointing me west, plucking me west wether I knew it or not.
Rented Angel of Darkness, still being betrayed by muscle memory. The new control system is pretty good, it just requires a gentler touch and less keystrokes than I'm used to, and the training is part of the game, so I kept sending Lara to a bloody death when I just wanted to line up for a jump. Oh, and they actually tell you when you're close to something you can interact with, so there's a lot less trial and error. And stealth mode is fun. I'll have to start checking in with Stella for tips.
I finished A Storm of Swords yesterday and am desperate for reading material. C passed me a White Dwarf to amuse me for a while, and I remain frustrated an perplexed as to how they paint the damned faces. I don't need to know the content of the paint mix, I need to know how they can distinguish and control paint in such tiny areas. You can stick an elf head inside the circle bits on the underside of a lego. How do you lowlight cheekbones on a face that small?
