the complete five hours of Red Cliff? long and occasionally indulgent, but good. the international version now available on Netflix? manages to screw up both the fights and the character development. see the whole thing or don't bother.

Thanks; I was going to see "Red Cliff" but didn't know about the versioning. I'll be sure to watch the whole thing.

I have never heard of the Seneca white deer before! They look like ghost deer! How very cool! And the spotted deer is very pretty--it's a calico deer! Thanks for the links.

How does one manage to see the "whole thing" version?

it's available on DVD and Blu-Ray - we originally rented a region 3 copy of the first half from Scarecrow (before part 2 had come out) but it looks like it's out on region 1 now.
