you probably want to disable pingbacks

if you have any friendslocked entries, you want to disable pingbacks.

and if you don't want your facebook name connected with your eljay name, don't even test that facebook thing.

I link my Livejournal from Facebook occasionally, since my Livejournal is reasonably anonymized. But I never link my Facebook from Livejournal, because Facebook has my real name in it.

But even after reading the pingback thing, I don't see the problem, at least as long as I don't drop messages that are meant to be locked into the public space and get them linked before I lock them.

the issue with pingbacks is that if you make a locked post (that i do not have permission to see) containing a link to a post of mine, i will get a pingback email that contains text from your locked post even though i could not view your post if i went to your journal.
