ironymaiden | good breakfast

this week is slow at C's work - he's overjoyed to be spending his mornings at Market Arms (English soccer bar), watching the World Cup. he sweet-talked the owner into holding a table for us this morning; unfortunately i slept in and by the time i arrived (6:40am Pacific) i wasn't able to get in because they had reached fire code capacity.

so i said farewell to C across the doorstep and went down to La Isla (Puerto Rican restaurant). i managed to get the last seat in the bar and had a blast. great service, great food, great crowd. (i hope they start doing brunch after this. Puerto Rican breakfast rocks.) i never had to hunt for the server and he kept my coffee cup full. i missed C, but we exchanged texts at halftime and i did a lot of high-fiving and AW-HALE-NOing with the folks around me. good times. i took the time to fill out the comment card to tell them how nice it was.

it would have been better if the ref had been more consistent and given us our third goal. but it was still a thrilling game.

all week i've been timing lunch to watch a game from the 70th minute. today, i'll be a temporary Algerian. fingers crossed.
