jumbled thoughts - ran around with
mrdorbin after a lovely lunch at FareStart, later C caught up with us.
sentence of the day: "i wish i had my sonic screwdriver with me - this drink would probably fluoresce."
we need the Emissary. the website does not do it justice. this is truly beautiful handmade furniture, designed for my lifestyle. (C didn't get to the exhibit hall today, but when i showed him the Sultan on the website, his response was "we have good credit." now if we had a dedicated game room to go with it...)
played Beatles Rock Band. fun. it does (as rumored) feature the ability to do three-part vocal harmony.
bought stunning new dice (a d20 set and a fistful of matched d10s). they're gold with a touch of blue and red swirled into them. the effect is that they look like really good caramels. i want to bite them.
after ten years of casual searching, i finally found a vendor with a Ryo-Ohki backpack in stock. mine! (at some point there will be blogging about reducing the amount of stuffing to increase the usable storage space. it will be necessary.) this version has a bell collar. the guys behind us at the gay gamer panel were delighted.
really great content at the panel about embracing losing in game design. alas, the obviously smart and talented presenter had awful speaking skills. (he was reading his speech. as C said later, he wanted to get up and read it for him.) i hope there's some way to get his powerpoint deck. he had a bibliography slide that i'd like to poke through.

Date: 2009-09-05 02:11 pm (UTC)Those gaming tables are truly astonishing. I want one and I'm not even really a roleplayer.
As for finding Teh Coolness, have I mentioned that I came home from Japan with a Cat Bus (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KII068/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000B965SG&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=00NGPCBG191P93Z05QQ4) for nowhere near this price (at a smaller size, which explains the differential)?
