as Norwescon approaches, my friends list bubbles with excitement and anticipation, thoughts about fandom, etc.
i have never attended a real Con. ever. there are several factors involved, not the least of which is that i'm a reader-of-books, and the nearby events back East were media-focused, or game tournaments.
C and i are planning to go on Saturday, but i'm still thoroughly clueless. Norwescon has probably the worst event website i've ever visited. (could be my stubborn refusal to use a Microsoft browser, but i couldn't even find the one-day admission costs/rules and there were many broken links) more important to me than parking is if there's a coat check and where's the nearest cash machine. it reminds me of getting into roleplaying...a semisecret activity where everyone involved speaks in jargon...C used to liken getting someone to "initiate" you to trying to buy crack. (i think it's probably good that i haven't a clue how to buy crack in Seattle.)
so, i'm not asking anyone to hold my hand and lead me around or invite me to parties or anything. i'm just looking to not embarrass myself. that would be good.

They have printed thingies there, which have the grid.
