Date: 2009-01-10 10:05 pm (UTC)Don't eat the hot bits. Don't use the hot bits in jewelery where the paint can come off and you can eat it/breathe it. If you think you have a hot bit, put it in a metal container that you can seal and wash your hands carefully after handling. (Or barring that, wrap in tinfoil)
That being said, none of the Radium Girls showed any symptoms unless they had >10^3 times background levels of Ra in their bodies.
