i was in this conversation last night about how people who roleplay do or do not have a look about them. i don't think they do, really, other than that they're overwhelmingly male. but i think that has something to do with the default character of D&D (at least thru 2nd ed)being "fighter." i've never had fun playing them myself, and i wonder if other women feel the same way.

BUT, what i did realize as i was falling asleep last night, was that i've had sex with six gamers (ranging from one-night stand to current spouse), none of whom i met while playing. they're a really diverse group of people (and most of them don't get along for reasons that aren't me), and i would have said before that the commonalities would be male, Lycoming College. but there's the infinite game itch in common. what cues are there for that? i think there's a certain amount of brain power involved, and creativity. i figured out a long time ago that smart is sexy.

i have yet more gamer friends, with whom there may never have been a die roll. and i don't necessarily talk about playing, either. but i enjoy their company immensely. there's a study or a paper or a new section on the match.com questionnaire here.

or maybe it's just me.

No no, it's not just you. Gamers are just incredibly sexy. Wildly, astoundingly sexy. This is a point of view that I just cannot stress enough.

Because there are less women in gaming than men, there's really a crying societal need to define gamers are sex gods. I'm all for it. :)

We are all the same species. In game or not, we manage to find each other. :)
