Tina Fey: Bitch is the New Black

(at this point, i'll be happy with any Democrat. i have my reservations about Senator Clinton as a presidential candidate, but i hope that her political career continues for many years as president or back in congress. she *does* kick ass. i think the "twofer" thing is an insult to Hillary. it's also borderline unconstitutional. suggesting it to me as a plus is a good way to distract me from anything else you are trying to say.)

Oddly enough, I took that commentary as at least partially sarcastic when I saw the show the first time around. But viewing it again, it looks like it was meant as an endorsement.

Her biggest negative, in my view, is that she's running a campaign that almost seems designed to lose in November. Every time she cites "experience" as a strength, she says not just, "I'm better than Obama", she also says, "McCain is better than I am."

My impression is that she's just like Obama, minus the winning personality, and minus the good judgement to vote against the authorization of force. At least she had the good sense to finally recognize that vote as her most costly mistake.

That said, I agree with the "any Democrat" point. That's not entirely true; I'd have a hard time voting for some of the fringe kooks in the party. But I read "any Democrat" as implying "any credible Democrat", not anyone who happens to be a member of the party.

Kucinich is out, but technically Gravel is still running. I know practically nothing about him.

Apparently that poor judgement to authorize force was the same poor judgement as Hans Blix. I'm not happy with how it turned out, and I have been historically critical of that vote by Clinton (I kept tearing out my hair yelling "JUST APOLOGIZE ALREADY!"), but that did give me a little more context.

I saw and LOVED this.

BTW, I want to give your message the time it deserves, so I can't reply this week. I have another midterm Monday. But I appreciate the civility and clarity.
