I'm happy as long as the Sonics ownership remains on the hook for rent, since it's that much less operating expenses charged to taxpayers. Even if arena expenses are on Seattle taxpayers' tab, and I live outside the city, I'd still prefer that the owners pay. After all, I use Seattle city services and pay Seattle sales tax when I buy stuff there, even though I don't live there. Furthermore, it's nice to see unpopular rich people stuck with a bill, rather than somehow twisting out of it.
