the washlet
Jul. 13th, 2007 11:11 amanyone else noticed these ads, not exactly work-safe, showing naked asses with smiley faces over them? i keep getting them on sites like Wired. they make me mildly uncomfortable every time i see them.
it turns out that Japanese toilet technology has finally come to the US.
behold the (all-flash all the time, featuring an opening butt montage) home of the Washlet. i am both repelled and intrigued.
there is a buy/try page on the site where you enter your zip code; silly me, i was thinking that perhaps they were featured in hotels or something. nope. there are several plumbers in the city that have a demo model. is it prudish of me to feel odd about the idea of going to a plumbing showroom to use the toilet? i'm trying to imagine the pro/con conversation with the salesperson later, about the temp of the seat, the water pressure, how well the dryer worked...
