Starbucks pastries are now made with margarine and palm oil.
um, i guess vegans can rejoice. i only buy from Starbucks out of desperation, (who knew i wouldn't be able to find a semi-competent barista in San Francisco?) but this is completely disgusting. and freaking hypocritical - here's your trans-fat free muffin with your chock-full-of-natural-trans-fat latte. lessee...we don't grind the coffee fresh, we don't manually pull shots, and now we serve leaden pastry. ugh.

Date: 2007-03-09 06:42 am (UTC)Wow.
I have used http://www.coffeegeek.com/forums and then used the US regional ones (at the bottom) with good luck for my various travels. My friend in Charleston (who is a saint for rescuing me on the weekend from the training camp) is still somewhat of a self-styled "redneck from idaho" who had just recent discovered Starbucks and thought it the end all of coffee. I had to help him. It was a mission from God.
