ironymaiden | movie review transcription

i'm making an effort this year (along with seeing more movies) to document the siff experience. to that end i have a nifty slim new notebook with an elastic closure and a ring binding round enough to hold my fat-ass fountain pen on the inside; it means i can easily write down reviews and impressions while they're fresh. i'm doing a test run with transcribing today...we'll see if i keep that up or shift to snapping pictures of the pages.

the insanity begins. i was ill yesterday, and dithered about attending, but here i am at the work mandatory fun showing of The DaVinci Code. i thought the book was merely okay. (and that's not taking Brown's writing skillz into account.)
so yeah, i'll be seeing 30+ films in less than a month, a personal record but nothing on most festival goers. i'm really here because i used the direct bus service to get me to Group Health to refill a prescription. what does it mean that i'm at a free movie out of guilt?

that was okay. there was a Smart Car. that was kinda neat. otherwise, National Treasure is just as stupid and a hell of a lot more fun.

that was the warm-up. at 12:01am Friday i see X3, and then my siff schedule begins at 7pm.
