i thought Jon Stewart's visit to Crossfire was brilliant, icy truth told in a hostile environment. he has nothing on Stephen Colbert speaking directly to the president at the White House correspondents' dinner.

a landing page where you can stream the second half of the speech
a good summary article at Editor and Publisher

"This administration is soaring! Why, they're rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg." i feel like i should fly out to New York and wash his feet with my hair.

Incredible. I wasn't certain Colbert -- as much as I enjoy his show -- had it in him. So many superb one-liners there, and you know that "Snow Job" is gonna stick.

Would so love to have been there sitting at George Clooney's table, at least for the clicking of salutory champagne glasses.
