so, i've been involved in this journal-crossing discussion of f-list philosophy, and why posts are public or private. i've got a theory...it could be bunnies.

what i noticed from an unscientific lurking sample (hey, lindylousmith!) is that with one exception, the people on my f-list who have done the directions site meme live something like more than 8 hours' drive from their place of birth. contariwise, my sample's group, with one exception, are under two hours, most under 30 minutes.
