did i ever tell you the dhrupad i found was the younger Dagar brothers? they're more traditional, i.e. they don't play the veena themselves in public. i was amused to note that one of the unavailable ZM Dagar albums in the Rhapsody database was "live in Seattle 1981."

playing the veena is quite traditional, just not for their branch of the family :-)

and Dagar-saheb was a visiting artist at the UofW for a bunch of years - i wouldn't be surprised if, as the archives of his concerts get put on CD, you see a lot more recordings from Seattle. i've got at least three myself. heck, why do you think guruji lives there?
