To the reticent nations, including the United States, I would say this: there is such a thing as a global conscience, and now is the time to listen to it.

one of the things that enraged me during the last presidential campaign was "Sportsmen for Bush" bumper stickers. i understand that one may interpret support for liberal firearms laws as support for hunting, but considering that gun laws in the United States have never put onerous restrictions on the firearms appropriate to hunting perhaps it would be better to consider stewardship of wildlife and wetlands. W isn't known for being concerned with preserving wild spaces. (and i'm sure loloc and shellyinseattle can point out numerous examples.)
i heard a theory (and if someone can link me to a written version of this, i'd appreciate it EDIT:thanks, textualdeviance) that it dosn't matter what we do with natural resources or the environment, because God has given us just enough to last until the Rapture. my churchgoing days are long over, but i could have sworn that there was something said to Adam about being responsible for all the stuff he named.

Well, considering that the only way Martin will get Alberta to fall in line is if the US suddenly jumps up and converts to Kyoto-devotees, I can understand what he's doing. Fucking Klein.
