i'm in the midst of reviewing a feature list, and listening to Les Paul & Friends: American Made, World Played.
the man is brilliant. i'm not sure that this album shows off his personal style so much as his pioneering of multitracking and the artists that were influenced by it. i'm just a sucker for fat blues-rock. (the How High the Moon cover is extremely disappointing.) it's actually formed as an album, best heard in order in its entirety. not done listening yet, but i'm pleased so far.
