Dia de Los Muertos thanks to
butterflydrming for getting us out of the house. this was the display at the Seattle Art Museum tonight. there was music, and free food, and coloring sheets that i'm looking forward to completing: a skeleton in a flying saucer, and one proudly displaying a fish he's just caught. i think L went for the one that was snorkeling.

we got cheap tickets to the Louis Comfort Tiffany show (where C and i lost
butterflydrming and L); the collection is stunning. i've seen better windows elsewhere (like
the Met and
Corning) but what was notable for me were the pieces of home decor. the collection includes fire screens and stair railing, as well as Tiffany's own surprisingly utilitarian table. i had no idea how extensively he had traveled nor how many north african influenced designs came out of that studio. definitely worth seeing.
Edit: my very favorite piece was a mere doorstop; an ostrich egg sized glob of clear glass (with the slightest aqua tint) with two goldfish inside.</td>
