this schools feature thing
Sep. 24th, 2005 11:02 ampeople are slowly picking up on the schools listing in userinfo. since the people who have identified with my little alma mater so far are very few, i've visited all of 'em.
the good news? the organization that C and i founded along with about twenty other people in order to dip into the Student Activities Fund money is still going strong after 10+ years, with residents on the same floor of the same building, and they're still painting the lounge. they had a sex toy party in September, which is very much what i would expect from my descendants. Wanda the cafeteria lady is still a fixture, as is WRLC.
the bad news? so far the LJ-ers are a bunch of women that either loudly profess their love of Jesus or Sarah Brightman. (i'm not going into the one with the cats.) i'm one of three who are done with school.
it's always been a funny thing, college. i went to Lycoming because they gave me a full-tuition scholarship. application fees added up pretty quickly, and my peculiar financial situation meant that i couldn't get waivers, so my forms went to Ivies and safeties...and in the end it was Lyco or Penn State and Lyco was mostly free and not at home. i hated that i had to go there and i'm sure i vexed my strapped parents to no end. the last laugh, of course, is that they comforted me by telling me that going to a small school meant that i could do theatre as a non-major...and then i decided not to do anything else. i should have transferred to a better theatre school, but by the time i knew what i wanted i was ending my junior year, and everything was too late.
i fell in love with C there. i'm still pleased with that.
