in reference to the protesters at the Madison Planned Parenthood i got an email about their Pledge-a-Picket donation program. the text is under the cut. x-posted.

What an amazing show of support! Thank you all for participating in our Pledge-A-Picket drive during this day of protest at our clinic on Madison.

We hope that by raising money in this way, we will show the protesters that their protest against every person’s right to control his/her body helps us more than it helps them.

The group running the protest, Bound4Life http://bound4lifekc.com/, plans to continue their action for 4 days. So we will continue our pledge drive as long as they are here. And I will continue to update our thermometer so that the protesters can see how much they have helped us to raise.

I am very excited to announce that on Thursday, the first day of protest activity, we received $1,729.25 in pledges! Our current 2-day total is over $4,500!!! This is our side putting our money where our mouth is. I feel that all of us digging into our pockets to support Planned Parenthood programs says more than a piece of tape with “Life” written on it. I am so very proud knowing that I am helping to bring comprehensive sex ed to people across western Washington, making sure quality reproductive and sexual health care is affordable to everyone, and my rights are being fought for by Planned Parenthood advocates at every level of government.

Please do pass this e-mail on to friends and supporters. Get the word out and call with your pledges! Then even if we cannot convince the protesters to cut short this protest, they may realize that it is not in their interest to hold one here again.
