to what glorious purpose?
Jul. 23rd, 2021 01:27 pmother than the fabulous costume and production design, the Loki tv show was pretty forgettable. i could have just watched the "Journey Into Mystery" episode and skipped the rest of the season.

Despite the way that show botched its conclusion, it set up unreasonable expectations for the others. F&tWS got around this by just clearly not being a show with that asked for analysis: racism bad! Sam good! (And even there, I think a closer viewing would lead me to conclude that the writing for Bucky is uneven at best.)
But this shows up especially in Loki, where the WV experience of saying "what is the next-level reading of this text?" just... fails. The show feels like fanfic written about a throw-away line in an episode of Doctor Who.
