C is eligible for vaccine as of yesterday. the appointment-hunting experience is frustrating: every location has a different form to fill out, they are all long, they all end in "no appointments available". that's if the site hasn't crashed.

my favorite: the city of Seattle signup is an Office 365 form that gives you a sad message about having reached the maximum number of entries when you click submit.

part of me is really annoyed at the folks who are driving long distances to bumblefuck for shots - as long as they continue to inflate the numbers in the east, the shots will keep getting sent to shit towns where the fools who live there don't want them. and they're taking their big city germs to anti-mask land. and holy shit, talk about lack of equity. the rest of me is like, get your entitled asses out of the city so that we can take your local appointments.

City of Seattle has opened a new site at North Seattle College, so hopefully that'll up local eligibility. Currently running three days a week, but is meant to scale up as doses are received. However, 70% of the federal allocation is going to pharmacies, so I think the best odds of getting appointments are there.

CVS is very plausibly the way to go since their system a) works nationwide, b) holds your slot for 30 minutes so you can type in your insurance info without hyperventilating and c) is pretty well-known at this point in terms of how to work around its quirks.

Also, if there is a r/coronavirusWA then it may have a lot of useful alerts and things. r/coronavirusMA has been invaluable to me over here.

Also, I confirm that this brings out the bitchiness. ALL THE BITCHINESS. Also all the judginess. Holy crap is everyone on edge. A couple of weeks ago I thought it might just be me but nope, nope, nope.

This speaks to my soul. I am continuing to try to be patient and supportive, but there's some rage and opinions that are taking their toll.

Eeyeah. If urban areas are where the demand is, urban areas are where the supply should be.
