i'm just staring at the screen now. i made the mistake of looking at impeachment news and even the smallest amount of it winds me up and stops me from being functional.

My deepest sympathy! I watched the House Managers' video yesterday and ended up throwing a spoon across the room. So I'm pretty much out — and that says a lot give what I used to do for a living.

Yeah, I told myself I could have one hour a day of news during the impeachment trial and I ended up arguing on the Internet for four hours after that. Gyaaaaah.

yes. on the one hand, i feel like this is clear-cut and that any sane Republican should want any excuse to convict so that they can block Trump from ever running for office again and take back control of their party. on the other hand, it's become clear that there are a lot of elected officials who don't care what happened or what kind of precedent is set by condoning the behavior that led to the events of January 6, because power is more important than any principle.
