buy all the things
i've made a lot of random and not-so-random purchases the last few months of being at home.
- mumble-mumble TeeTurtle t-shirts (mostly preorders, mostly for C)
- tea from the place i would normally walk to from the office
- road id for C's fitbit and the dog's collar. (it's been a struggle to get a medical alert for his penicillin allergy to last, hope this is a good solution.)
- Turkish towels. which, it turns out, are coming from actual Turkey. (i chose the vendor because they were direct trade, was not expecting it to be _that_ direct.)
- a lickimat.
- various hair products - i'm trying to make a commitment to buy from black-owned businesses for my curly hair needs. (the sampler from EcoSlay was nice but not ideal for my hair, the Miss Jessie's Honey Curls is a real holy grail - works great, smells better.)
- i got a cute dress at Target in the before times. i love it and they still had some so i ordered a few more of the same in other colors
- fiber from a dyer i like who had to move across the country.
plus there have been a lot of actual essential things, and hair dye, and yarn for a blanket.
what random things have you bought since March?

The Mr was unemployed at the beginning of the pandemic, and once he got a new job we started planning to move once Lockdown eased, so I’ve held off on most non-essential purchases. I have enough unread books and yarn to knit to last me another couple of years of Lockdown... assuming I had the time XD I do want to get a blending board once we move, but I haven’t the time or space for spinning at the moment so it’s not a priority.
Although I did recently purchase a few new items of clothing for myself—a favorite designer was having an end-of-season clearance sale. It felt like a great indulgence.

--Puzzle toys for the cats (turns out Sophie is the brains of the operation after all; Zeke is just . . . persistent)
--Tee shirts with stuff on them (which, as you know, I never wore in the Before Time)
--All sorts of paper crafting supplies
--A gorgeous, hand-carved Ganesha mask that now hangs in the loft
--two dresses
--some journals from a local business in Portland (Cognitive Surplus; I think you'd love their stuff)
--Books (but I have stopped since mid June because I have plenty to read and need to finish some and get them out of the house)
That's a partial list. Really, it's shameful.

* T-shirts
* Leggings and dresses from Lorica
* Jewelry - in a moment of being unable to pick between several similar beaded necklaces that I thought were all equally pretty, I gave up and ordered three
* Electronics - new tablet, new laptop, new monitor, and yesterday a slew of stuff to support the notion of working in my home office
* Wood-tile flooring for my deck (from Ikea, ordered but not yet received)

- Moar beading supplies (as if I needed them)
- ABSOLUTELY no new clothes because I'm only wearing outdoor clothes for a couple hours/week. My done laundry stack is smaller than an average pie pumpkin.

My, that's intriguing!
Sadly, there's a persistent minority of users who complain about it running hot--some say it's so hot it trashed their MacBook.

Hooray for comfort!
I actually love wearing dresses, but it's hard to get the right shape for wheelchair use (long enough so I don't flash people; short and narrow enough so fabric doesn't get caught in the front wheels & kill me Isadora Duncan-style).

- Many stickers for my ongoing usage of work and personal bullet journal things.
- Eye shadow palettes.
- A few dresses from holyclothing.com, because they're rayon (therefore comfy in the summer), relatively fancy (my aesthetic!), and they introduced a new color called "nightshade" (which they could have called "Jilli we are directly targeting you").

My very favorite purchase: a panel mat for stretching at home. (Also yoga blocks, yoga mat, weights, Chirp wheel, but those aren't so random)
Photography backdrop & mounting for working from home.
Kick scooter. Bungee cords for attaching things to the scooter.
Hammock straps for being outside.
Costume for someday circus act, makeup for someday circus act, even though circus act is very early in the choreo process.
