archival dramatization of the life of a great castrati, his composer brother...and Handel. oh, sexy 90s French historicals, I've missed you. unfortunately the sound sync was busted for the last 20 minutes or so, which completely wrecked the tenuous illusion that the actor playing Farinelli was singing (they blended the voices of a soprano and a counter-tenor to approximate the castrati sound). worth seeing if you come across a copy.
