my swimsuit has worn out; i broke down and ordered a new one tonight.

every fucking time i have to buy a swimsuit it makes me furious. there are three brands that make long enough suits, and then only a tiny subset of the suits they make are actually "long torso". i also get to pay a 10% premium over "regular".

and gods forbid i want to wear a color i really like, because then i can have exactly nothing.

I'm long waisted myself so I get the issue. I think the tankini has been a good development but it's not if you're an exercise swimmer.

The real heartbreak is that they don't offer a dunk tank at the swimsuit store, because one really can't tell how it fits until it's wet.

That said, I think I've found a Speedo top (with a light wide elastic band around the bottom so it won't billow) and a Dolfin bottom that actually fit me.

/after trying out every fucking possible "unitard" tanksuit style ever made.

They ... make swimsuits for long bodied people? I am learning this 10 years too late.

yes. Land's End (look for long torso), Speedo (look for sizes ending in T, during this search i only found one suit model that came in long), and a brand called Longitude. the Longitude ones come in colors and patterns but they are expensive and availability is patchy (and they aren't chlorine-resistant as i have learned to my sorrow).

I can't actually swim anymore. My body temp now drops when I get in the water and then I get cold and have a fibromyalgia flare. Bodies r stupid.
