stolen from [personal profile] promethia_tenk:

1) My college roommate once memorably said of Bono: "I don't know if I want to do him, or be him." This struck me immediately as the most perfect cross-axis metric of fannish devotion. Who hits you square in the middle of the do them/be them scale?

2) What's your favorite U2 song?

3) I consider driving on the right road to the right piece of music one of life's supreme pleasures. What's a phenomenal music + transportation experience you have had?

4) When you fantasize about running away, where do you want to go?

5) What's a new food you've tried recently? Was it good?

1) Tilda Swinton is my canonical answer, but Kate Blanchett may be overtaking her.

2) One Tree Hill (although that took a moment of research; my favorite part of it is the coda that blends into the next track on the album, Exit. apparently it's extra-confusing if you have only heard it in digital form since they cut the track break so that it's on the Exit side. i am, of course, old enough to have had a cassette tape.)

3) Going to visit my parents, and The Who's "Baba O'Riley" kicking in as i crested the hill that marked the "city" limits of the town closest to my childhood home.

4) Seattle? I'm already here. i fantasize about being here but being independently wealthy. although sometimes i do fantasize about getting on the next Amtrak train to leave when i'm switching busses near King Street Station.

5) i was introduced to super Tuscan wine this week. i tried two. they're more complex than a Chianti. i approve.

how about you?

Oh, these are excellent questions. :-)

1) One of my handbalancing coaches who I call Bender in this space. He is chill, grounded, precise and looks like a Greek statue. I could stare at him forever and I also want his skill. On a more famous level, Janelle Monae because ooh.

2) Also One Tree Hill / Exit. I swear I'm not copycatting -- I specifically played the 2nd half of Joshua Tree for my husband last weekend to show him the not-so-popular awesome stuff, and these two songs turned out to be most of what I was thinking of.

3) Not transportation -- but as I was lying on the table waiting to get permanently sterilized, Tears for Fears came on the radio: "Welcome to your life -- there's no turning back." So perfect, I laughed.

4) I don't really have this fantasy. NYC has its appeal, as does the classic tropical island, but I love where I live (Boston area).

5) Kimchi a couple of weeks ago; no. But zucchini/squash noodles today and yes!
