morning vignette

ironymaidengot on the elevator to walk the dog yesterday morning. a family from upstairs was already in the elevator.
parents are an interracial couple and the two kiddos are about knee high. the kids are chattering away in some language i can't quite place (and are very curious), mom is trying to corral them away from Leela (who wants nothing to do with them). we make cheerful small talk with the parents (in english) and get out of the elevator.
as we're leaving the larger child squees out:
"kawaii doggie!"
ah, nihonglish :D
