Date: 2017-12-28 11:50 pm (UTC)Tartans and stuff: I tell people that I grew up never hearing the word "Jacobite" for the same reason fish don't need to be told what water is. There were people in overwhelmingly-Catholic Cape Breton County for whom "being Highland Scottish" is practically a second career. I only recall one house in my hometown that was actually painted plaid.
