girl, interrupted
Feb. 3rd, 2005 10:39 amalas, C's illness was not food induced. i got to #66 last night before things started to go hideously wrong. no vile details will be listed here, except to say that i'm still working to keep down water :(
1. First Name?
Jennifer
2. Were you named after anyone?
nope. it does come from the same Welsh root as Guinevere, who is a character that i have a hate for verging on psychosis.
3. Do you wish on stars?
when i can see them.
4. When did you last cry?
within the last couple weeks, can't pinpoint the date, was lying in bed with an unending slow seeping. i had a close call at work Monday.
5. Do you like your handwriting?
yes. i won a prize for penmanship in sixth grade, but it has since degenerated in a way i find pleasing.
6. What's your favorite lunch meat?
leftover ham
7. What is your birth date?
read my user info, lazybones. i'm very tired of assassination retrospectives.
8. What is your most embarrassing CD?
not sure if that would be Faith by George Michael or Daft Punk. the Daft Punk was a gift, though.
9. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you?
i probably would always think that i'd like to get to know me better, but never get around to it.
10. Are you a daredevil?
not really. but i can be wildly impulsive, especially with a partner in crime.
12. Do looks matter?
to get ahead, yes. personally, i tend to love personalities, and once i know them have a hard time judging aesthetics.
13. How do you release anger?
interesting word choice. holding anger and its kin inside or trying to dissipate it makes me physically ill. i need confrontation, and if it isn't complete then i can fester in a way that puts boils of anger in places they don't belong. once i beat a kiddie punching doll until it exploded - that was pretty good. i choose a screaming tearful fight followed by (hopefully) hugs over pretending everything's fine every time.
14. Where is your second home?
i don't have one.
15. Do you trust others easily?
too easily.
16. What was your favorite toy as a child?
sigh. Barbie. my parents refused to buy me action figures, so my Barbies lived the life of Star Wars guys, HeMan, and Transformers. i made my brothers save me cocktail swords (they fit Barbie's hand perfectly), sneakers became snowmobiles, broken balloons and kleenex became thigh-high boots and Boris-worthy garb, and they had fortresses in the crotch of every tree and hollowed out snow drift. i had the black horse, Midnight, not the pussy palomino. they were often naked (it's easier to imagine clothes than dress their complicated bodies, although things got easier after i realized i could remove their heads), always shoeless, and lesbian, although that may have been more motivated by the poor design of the Ken doll than anything else. i also liked to play with their hair, since mine would not actually pass my shoulders until i was eighteen or nineteen.
17. Which class in high school do you think was totally stupid?
the classroom portion of Driver's Ed. there were about three classes of a year-long weekly course that actually taught me valuable driving stuff. the rest was in the manual the state put out, or learned in the car.
18. Do you have a journal?
this, and a backup that appeared during the great outage. i've kept a paper one sporadically, but not right now.
19. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
it's returning slowly. i used to work with actors, and i hurt some feelings with some unfortunately literal ones.
22. What are your nicknames?
i've been everything from Dwarf Person to Princess. any others are endearments.
23. Would you bungee jump?
only if someone else's life depended on it.

only boots.

Date: 2005-02-05 11:28 am (UTC)my suspicion is that if it's a big open invite, it will still garner only a certain percentage of folks, and stay relatively small. that's just a guess on my part, but i find that an LJ shoutout is generally as effective as junk mail, even if you're

Date: 2005-02-03 02:47 pm (UTC)I think she is still here as Rye got one of our books signed. *swoons* Which was last year at the Uni. bookstore.
I need to own _Bloodchild_. The essay at the end affirms me in my own craft as a writer, really. It's brilliant.
We should see her together sometime. That would rock so hard.
