i am grateful for the absence of humidity, but why did the heat have to move to Washington with me? i admit that i mostly wear clothes to stay warm and protect myself from abrasions, but since bicycling one day a year is the most appropriate venue for public nudity in Seattle, could we have a few more clouds?

this got really long and i'm tired or there would be a lot more links.

Friday[livejournal.com profile] frabjousdave brought us to Sex In Seattle. before the show we had dinner with D at Tango, then [livejournal.com profile] the_monkey_king and [livejournal.com profile] shellyinseattle joined us for drinks and the show. i enjoyed it, and i like the Hugo House space. my favorite touch was turning instant messaging conversations into a dance where the partners never quite touched. perhaps they packed too many ideas into one little show, and maybe i was the only one who was too delighted by the live replication of the animated shooting star from the NBC (or was it some other network?) PSAs, but there were many things i liked and since the preview of the next one includes a Highlander-style sword fight, i'll be there.

D, returning to his satanic roots, introduced me to the mojito. mmmmminty.

Saturday day was about beer and buses and nakedness. next year i wish to attend the solstice pageant and picnic as well as the parade. Saturday evening was My Big Fat Gay Wedding Part Deux. the house was full or nearly so and there were many friendly faces who have mostly told me nice things about the show. then Piecora's and bed.

Sunday we headed for Hattie's Hat, another stop on our quest for the perfect brunch. it was good, but the feel is not unlike the Five Point and we have to drive there. the nice bit was that Sunday is the Ballard Farmers' Market, including a bold two year old selling lemonade.

Sunday evening was[livejournal.com profile] julesong's 40th birthday party...described in detail with pictures here. her house is lovely, the food was divine (i made low carb sugar-free blintzes that were much more than just edible) and rowdy queers and weekend vikings quaffed hard cider together. i may have to purchase Dance Dance Revolution, as it has an almost hypnotic quality, yet is the one video game that will not make my butt go numb.

on Monday i got a sewing machine. but i have the wrong sized bobbin. the journey that led to that discovery was delightful though. to figure it out i needed to lift some metal plates so i could actually watch the action of the bobbin case and the needle. it would be so cool if i could replace the plates with lucite. i probably won't be able to make it to a fabric shop until Thursday and it's killing me ( and that's only because my King Arthur preview was cancelled. they're still recutting the film. yikes! it may be even worse than i've imagined.)

tonight was an interminable and only half effective tech for MBFGW Third Time's the Charm. i love the space and it has a real staff. it felt very good to be there, under real lights that were wired safely, etc. i was fighting a headache all evening, but at least four people rubbed my neck and shoulders. it helped, but a double espresso and sleep would have been perfect. still, four people rubbed my neck and shoulders :)

A wonderful description, thank you! :) Your blintzes were beyond edible, for sure. I want the recipe, pretty please?
