it's supposed to be 80 tomorrow.

today we saw the kids from Cornish do the Merry Wives of Windsor at Seattle Center on the patch of lawn behind Exhibition Hall. there was a pre-show warm up complete with singing a round and doing Shakespeare cheers. the weather was gorgeous, and there were charming dogs and jugglers and people dancing with ribbons out in the park, but the show tore along without intermission, and mostly kept me interested enough to remain undistracted. i've never read that play, so i can say with honesty that the relationships and storytelling were clear. it was a really strong educational production, and we were charmed.

it helped that we were on a blanket under rustling trees, dappled with just the right amount of sunshine, and all the bushes were in bloom. i stole a bit of lilac from the neighbor's bushes yesterday...i wore it in my hair for hours and it's lying wilted in front of me on my desk. that property is being redeveloped. i may not smell those lilacs again.

in other news, Iron Chef America was ok. i still hate Bobby Flay. Alton really does know everything.
