ironymaidenthis morning i gave C a pat on the butt and put him on the monorail to the Nebulas.
i proceeded to Nielsen's, where both cashiers were experiencing their FIRST DAY. when i had to tell the person behind the counter about the heavenly pleasure of the potato, their signature pastry, i could have cried. still, i love the simple bliss of tea earl grey hot and pastries in a comfy chair with a book.
after that i finished up the book by the wading fountain by Key Arena. right now it appears to be home to a pair of ducks. i can only assume that by now word of The Sopranos has spread among the duck community.
Cherry Blossom Festival is on, so i took in some sun on the lawn and watched an exuberant taiko performance. it was a group of local teenagers who really kicked ass. i didn't hang out for the pros...these guys were just glowing as they played, and i'm not sure that any amount of polish can substitute for seeing young people fired up. it was especially delightful to see the female (about 40%) contingent with their fierce grins and ponytails flying, shouting drumcalls and taking solos. i wonder if there's a drum and bugle corps that's caught on.
