I love weird, fucked-up movies with happy memories attached to them. I love Fight Club because every time I watch it I think of Boyfriend and I quoting it. I love listening to Oleander, a depressing nineties band, because it makes me think of sitting in a smoke-filled crawlspace, drinking Jack and Sprite with my ex. I love Girl, Interrupted because it makes me think of all of those people that were supportive when I came out.
You just inadvertently reminded me of a lot of great memories. Thank you. :)
it means you and Mark have similar taste in comfort film. Mine used to be Cold Comfort Farm (Thre'll be no butter in Hell!) because order was imposed on chaos.
Not so much now because my life is no longer desperately chaotic.
Because Pulp Fiction rejects dramatic conflict between good and evil in favour of dramatic conflict between cool and not-cool. We're much more comfortable identifying our own secret-dream motivations with the latter than with the former.

The day I found out my friend Jessica had died: Ravenous.
When I found out the Vogue was closing: Ravenous.
I think I loaned it to someone, though. I haven't seen it for awhile. Oh, crap, have to go to Best Buy and root through the $5 bin for another copy.
