ironymaidenbuggrit. i attempted to do a phone update last night, but it didn't post.
found out yesterday morning that Comedians of Comedy was going to be at the Showbox. (debated staying out late on a school night, but agreed that this is why we live in a city, dammit.) bought tickets after work, C met me downtown, even with early admission through the Green Room we still didn't get seats (for those unfamiliar with the venue, there are a very few elevated tables and some bar seating facing the stage, but the place is mostly standing room) and the show ended up being sold out.
good times; remarkably strong lineup. we went for Patton Oswalt, but i'm really glad to have seen Maria Bamford who i had never heard of before. (she does a bit about geography that rocks...ends with the US and Canada fighting and then having makeup sex.) she's awesome, and yes, i obviously live under a rock. sorry my attempt to get the word out failed.
