i knew about Sex Dwarf, and that Tainted Love was a cover...

every now and again i get a little surprise from Rhapsody. today, the original version of Say Hello, Wave Goodbye (as opposed to this one). tunes are YouTube links for the internationalness.

i mean, Soft Cell. wow.

really? i like the David Gray cover better, mostly because he's a more more solid singer than Mark Almond.

I have a couple versions of the Soft Cell one, and I've got to say, the earlier it was recorded the better able Mark was to hit the high notes and make it through the arpeggios.

maybe I don't know the song well enough but the pacing seemed so awkward and non-musical to me.
