I still think there should be two versions of the last ( hopefully ) book...

one with the optimistic happy ending...and the other with the pessimistic "real" ending.

I can so see the corporation owning the series milking the fans for every page worth.

yup. Rowling claims that this is it, that she's always known the ending. i say it's only if she had a very well-designed contract for the first book and for the first sale of movie rights. otherwise someone will extend it. killing off main characters or making them evil or whatever will make no difference. people will still buy it.

thus far, in Harry's world, people marry their high school sweethearts, genetics is destiny, and all of our heroes neatly pair up. i'm not expecting anything special or surprising from the end of the series because at heart the whole thing is pretty conventional. i'll probably still read it in one sitting.
