worldmapper

i'm fascinated with worldmapper. i've seen the individual maps now and again, but not the full collection - countries are represented in proportional size by various metrics. private health care spending shows a monstrously fat US and a tiny (but still surprisingly large to me) Canada. toy imports - what's up with the UK? dairy imports - the US isn't even on the map. HIV prevalence...

Probably some non-elective stuff: like I said, dental, optical, non-hospital prescription, as well as fertility treatment and cosmetic surgery. Also, a lot of gender reassignment surgery goes down in Quebec, so that might make a teeny blip (although I'm not actually sure about the cost/coverage for that- I'd certainly like to see it covered, but I'm not sure that it is).
