1) Because race relations in the US and UK are worse than in Holland, especially black/white race relations. 2) Because the threshold for feeling offended on someone else's behalf is lower in the US and UK. The old Berke Breathed "offensitivity" thing.
OTOH, the racism of Japanese culture is sometimes truly staggering. We just don't see it here very often.
I just don't get why they (or their advert company) felt like they had to go there. I can think of some pretty cool ad ideas using either the two chicks they used or a black kid and a white kid each playing a different colour of PSP. After some playing, they swap PSP's and play some more or some shit like that. I think it would use the people/PSP colour thing but leave the violence out of it. {shrug}
