Delightful story of mothers and daughters - flipping back and forth between 1969 and 1999, Pakistan and Canada. It uses the Bollywood convention of double-casting generationally (frex, the daughter actress plays the mom in 1969). It's funny, poignant, joyful.

What if you went back one minute in time and shot your past self? What if you were the kind of person who wanted to tell off God and needle someone like Joe Rogan?

This was a fun, funny, gory, and occasionally touching film that does a lot with a pretty small budget. (It also includes a lovely turn by Danny Trejo who clearly just takes jobs that seem fun to him.)

It doesn't have distribution and I hope it finds an audience or at least is a real stepping stone for the creative team.

30 for 30 on the 2011 Vancouver riots. Quality work from ESPN as always. They spent more time on the online shaming the riot participants got than I thought it deserved. (Felt like they wanted to make a story about this being an early social media event and then they backed off a bit in the edit.) Everyone who talked to them was actually guilty so 🤷‍♀️

Almost a walkout, but I wanted to find out how the trial ended. Reader, they do not show the end of the trial.

Turkish defense lawyer juggles a murder case with working herself up to signing off on organ donation for her brain-dead mom. I was into her trying to get a witness to the hearing on time and the slow reveal of all the corruption in town. I was upset with our heroine already for dragging her feet on HONORING HER MOTHER'S WISHES, and then she attempts to bribe the judge... and we never find out if she gets in trouble OR what happens to her client
